A Long Overdue Update about WholesaleQuiltbattings and our Sister Company

Previously it was announced that there was to be a merger between WholesaleQuiltBatting.com and it's sister ecommerce Company, WholesaleQuiltBatting.com.  After extensive discussions, review of financials and the desires for the directions of each company, it was determined that a merger would be counter-productive to both businesses and would not accomplish the desired result each business was seeking.

Therefore, what has occurred is more akin to a collaboration between the two businesses regarding the Quilt Batting products to provide clients with the best access to Quilt Battings.  

One distinct difference exists between the businesses.  Customer's wishing to make purchases using PayPal will have to do so through WholesaleQuiltBatting.com since WholesaleQuiltBattingS.com does not accept PayPal payments at this time.

Warm and Natural Warm Tater Quilt Batting - A Great Quilt Wholesale Quilt Batting with Cautions!

There's no doubt that here at WholesaleQuiltBattings.com as the number one nationwide wholesale distributor of this great new product that we are thrilled with Warm Tater Warm and Natural Quilt Batting.

It is a new innovation in batting but it have been a little misrepresented here and there on the internet so we want to make sure it is clear to people.

Warm Tater is a 100% Cotton Quilt Batting as part of the Warm & Natural Line of Products produced by the Warm Company.  Per Carton it weights about 9 lbs including the box and 7 lbs. without the box.  It is a natural cotton batting.  However, it is NOT organic.  Organic products tend to be more expensive and more popular with consumers who endeavor to buy organic foods and then expand upon their food selections to clothing and other products.  

Warm Tater is not an organic product. Organic products are not treated or processed during their growing process with biological chemicals, pesticides, and artificial fertilizers.  This is not true of Warm Tater.  The cotton is grown using whatever processes are reasonably and commercially available.  However, during it's processing Warm Tater is not treated with any chemicals,  bonding agents, sealing agents, etc... which is considered a "Natural Process."  

The difference is between the growing process of the cotton and the means by which the Warm Company processes the cotton in order to create the Warm and Natural, Warm Tater Product. Therefore, chemicals and fertilizers may be used to protect and accelerate the growth of the cotton used in Warm Tater rendering the cotton "inorganic" yet the Warm Company does not use sealants, bonding agents, glues or other chemicals in the actual creation of the Warm Tater product, and therefore it is a natural product due to it's creation process.  Most batting companies do not use natural processes, which is perfectly acceptable but naturally produces battings that are meant for different purposes, are more dense and are unsuitable for certain uses.

There is no doubt that Warm Tater is nothing short of a great batting.  It is dense and 100% Cotton.  It results from a Natural Process developed by Warm and Natural.  Yet it does have it's cautions for users.

First, since Warm Tater is such a thick batting, it is best to have an industrial machine when working with it, be it a serger, sewing machine, quilting machine, embroidery machine or other type of machine you might endeavor to use it with.  It does take some power in your machine to work with this batting, especially depending upon the use you plan to put it to.

Second,  when cutting Warm Tater even the best rotary cutter with a new blade with require either a second pass or that you use some good old fashioned elbow grease (and increased safety) when doing so in order to cut it.

If you are using an electric cutter to cut Warm Tater, it is best to restrict your cutting to 1 or 2 layers maximum even if your cutter can cut up to four (4) inches of fabric.  Many rotary cutters have a guide on them that is stationary and sweeps the blade of debris and fabric particles in order to keep the blade running efficiently.  It is extremely important to realize that because Warm Tater uses no glues, etc.... in its natural process, that it has a tendency to release more fiber and/or fabric particles than typical batting.  These particles can accumulate under the guide of electric cutters, particularly high speed electric rotary cutters.  This can occur quickly and therefore your cutter guide should be checked and cleaned often when cutting this batting.  A buildup of  these fiber particles from the batting and fabrics can cause new cuttings to snag and result in your hand or finger being pulled into the cutting path causing serious injuries.

This particular article is written directly from experience with Warm Tater which caused my wife to lose the top 1/3rd of her finger due to just such a snag.  Trust me, it is a painful result you do not want so cutting your Warm Tater batting should be done with extreme caution.  This injury has now resulted in cutting Warm Tater by scissors as a matter of safety.

WholesaleQuiltBattings.com - A Merger with WholesaleQuiltBatting.com but Who is the New Owner?

My thanks to Theresa who's question on the owner of WholesaleQuiltBattings.com prompted today's posting to keep customers and the general public informed about the merger with WholesaleQuiltBattings.com

Without getting technical, I (Cindy's Husband Christopher) had established WholesaleQuiltBattings.com which was originally going to be a sister company to WholesaleQuiltBatting.com, my wife Cindy's company.

For those who have been my wife's clients as far back as when Cindy was known as "The Modern Mom" at TheModernMom.com and then her progression to WholesaleQuiltBatting.com for which she became known as "The Modern Mom offering Wholesale Quilt Batting and Fabrics." 

Cindy has owned and operated the business from the ground floor up exclusively on the internet for about six years or so with her share of major setbacks and business trials and tribulations.

However, when there have been a number of setbacks over the years that weren't anticipated, mostly because my wife is so very good hearted that she never imagined being victimized by others.

Unfortunately, this last setback Cindy suffered when her hand was pulled into the high speed rotary cutter has been more severe due to the nerve damage in my wife's finger.

If you don't already know Theresa, I am a lawyer and have been acting pro bono as her company lawyer for years.  Certainly as any good husband would do, I am not about to see all that Cindy has built and struggled for go down the tubes.  Yet Cindy has had to focus on her injury and her rehabilitation.

To a great degree Cindy's business at WholesaleQuiltBatting.com will continue as a result of a merger of that company into WholesaleQuiltBattings.com with a new and innovative web presence.  

Cindy will be working with me for at least the next year as she teaches me the ins and outs of the quilting trade, its products, and acquainting me with the customer base she has built over the years.

Yet, I am no stranger to Cindy's business.  Initially was I instrumental in getting Cindy started in her business both legally and by virtue of my knowledge of website and SEO development through my own company, Pearsall Internet Technologies.  

I am very excited that Cindy will be teaching me about quilting, quilt batting and all the products and accessories that go into quilting and the other uses for quilt batting which I have learned are unlimited!!

I have already had the wonderful privilege of speaking with so many quilting and non-quilting customers all over the United States who have migrated to the new company website for their orders at Cindy's recommendation that there just aren't enough hours in a day to put into this exciting new development.

I welcome your comments as a reader, your submitted articles to publicize the skills you use in your business so we can all learn and benefit from each other and I am certainly not above receiving or giving constructive criticism so we can all learn more in the processll.  Quilt Batting, Quilters, Sewing, Embroidery, Long Arm Quilting, Hand Stitching, Quilt Backing, Rotary Cutters and such are all new areas to me and your input is more welcome.

Okay, so the play on words in the blog article title here for WholesaleQuiltBattings.com didn't work as well as I would have hoped, but there are things to do and the customers come first.  After a few tries at a snappy posting title I had to use the best one I had come up with in a short period of time because the substance of the announcement is what is most important.

WholesaleQuiltBatting.com will become part of a new company, WholesaleQuiltBattings.com.  Though the change appears minor with merely an "s" added to the domain name, it is an entirely new and different company with an even greater focus on customer needs in the area of Quilt Batting and a changed product line.  Quilt Batting will be the company's main product with occasional offshoots into fabrics which can be purchased and shipped cost effectively so the "Free Shipping" mantra of WholesaleQuiltBatting.com and be maintained as long as possible in this economy.
